We made it!

We are now southerners (just kidding).

Kaylee finished up her softball season with an End of Season Tournament.  It was double elimination, and they lost their second game on Saturday after playing all week.  The season coming to a close is always a little sad for me.  Oh, how I enjoy watching that girl play softball.  Maybe it's the joy of watching your child do something she loves.

The beauty of people packing and loading you...lots of free time.  This was how the kids spent their day.  Our driver was so great, when we got here to our new house, he made sure he let the kids know when these mop buckets were unpacked!
(BTW, these mop buckets were being moved from the job site there to the job site here.  I have OCD, but not bad enough that I need 3 industrial sized mop buckets to clean my house.)

It was tough saying goodbye to everyone.  How I love good friends that you come to love as family. Moving always allows me to reflect on all of the great people I've come to know and love in all of the places we have lived.  Heavenly Father has allowed me to cross paths with some of His best.

We now have this odd curse of people destroying our mailboxes.  The first one (above) in Kuna, the truck driver caught it with the side of his truck pulling out.  Jeremy had to bend the neighbor's mailbox back into place, too.  Then (below) the locksmith hit our mailbox stand here in Texas.  Luckily, this one isn't our problem to fix.

So...we're mostly settled.  The house is unpacked, but not the garage.  The pictures are all hung on the walls, which makes it feel more like home.  Jeremy did great picking out the house (he did it himself without me there.  As he was looking at houses, he would take pictures with his cell phone and send them to me and ask me what I thought).  I'll post pictures later, when I get motivated to clean all of the rooms so I can take pictures.
It's really hot.  I think we've had 2 days that it hasn't been over 100.  It's not like we didn't know it was going to be hot, so we're doing fine.  The only time we go outside is if we're swimming or anything else that involves water.  The humidity isn't as bad as I thought, so that's a plus.
The bugs, though, the BUGS! Good grief!  We've found a few scorpions in our house and that about sends me through the roof. Jeremy took pictures, but I can't even look at the pictures long enough to put them on my blog. We've found lots of dead cockroaches.  I do not walk around my house barefoot, and for sure I don't walk around outside barefoot.  We're pretty sure the homeowner had sprayed for bugs before we got here, but I've still used almost a bottle of Raid because I've sprayed around my doors so many times.  The only time we've seen a trantula is a dead one ended up by our garage.  By the time I saw it, it was unrecognizeable, which is good.  I do NOT do well with spiders.  Or scorpions.  Or all of the other weird flying creatures (I say creatures because "bug" tends to indicate a little crawly thing.  These things are the size of small animals, I'm not kidding) that I have never seen before.

But...I get to have my husband home every night, which makes me so happy I can't even stand it.

Let me just tell you why I added this picture.  Jeremy laughs and laughs and teases me relentlessly about my disabling fear of bugs.  This is Jeremy weed-wacking the tall grass behind our back fence. We know there are chiggers and who-knows-what-else back there, so Jeremy (this day it was easily over 100 degrees) puts on his rain pants, and rubber boots, AND still has me spray him with bug spray.
Who's laughing now?

I am glad you are there and getting settled! What fun you will have with the bugs...and othe creatures. Maybe you should just name them and have new pets!!!

I can't wait to see the pictures for your new house!

WE MISS YOU!! Glad to hear the journey went well and the house approved. Hopefully all those awful bugs will just bring you back to us sooner :). We can hope anyway.
