Another whirlwind (and mostly picture-less) summer come and gone! Here are some highlights....
1. Raging Waters - since we have such a small yard here, I wanted to find something for the kids to do outside the house. They have Raging Waters Water Park (a lot like Roaring Springs in Boise), and season passes were actually pretty affordable (especially compared to most entry fees to places here). It only took one and a half times of us going for the passes to pay for themselves. I am in a great stage right now kid-age-wise. When we got to the park Nate and Tanner would go do their thing, Kaylee and Paige would go do their thing, and Lila and I would hang out in the pool until everyone was done and the older kids would come and find me and we'd go home. To moms with little kids - there is light at the end of the tunnel!!
2. Scout Camp - the boys' first Scout Camp! Since sign-ups Jeremy was planning on going and staying the whole week, but as it got closer and work got busier, it looked like he was only going to be able to go Thursday through Saturday instead of Monday through Saturday. The first part of the week was torture for this momma and I worried about them like crazy! I had two things that made me feel a little at ease - 1)they had each other, and 2) we have the greatest Scout Master in the world (Shane) that I know treats those boys like they were his own kids. So Thursday night when Jeremy gets up there, I get a text from him that says "boys are safe and having a blast" Yes! So proud of them. And grateful for Jeremy and Shane who stayed up all night the last night of camp to protect the boys from the bear. I was happy to have all of them home at the end of the week, but not happy to do that laundry - holy cow! We also may or may not have also taken boys in the yard and washed body parts with hydrogen peroxide.
3. Girls Camp - This was Kaylee's 3rd year at camp. They canoed, repelled, ate awesome food, had great testimony building activities, and had lots and lots and lots of fun. I'm so grateful for inspired camp/YW leaders. Kaylee had a phenomenal experience with those great girls and I loved having her home at the end of the week!
4. Hobbs Family Reunion - It was Brian's turn this year, so we all headed to Southern California. Awesome for us - we only had a 6 hour drive! We stayed in a beach house and had tons of fun playing in the ocean with cousins. These are pictures of the Natural History Museum we went to...
5. Last but not least....we moved AGAIN!!! In May we received a phone call from our management company telling us the owners of our house decided to sell and so we wouldn't be renewing our leas that was up in August. Ugh! We started having horrible flashbacks of trying to find a rental here that took Jeremy three trips to finally find something that would work. Before we even started looking, we decided to call a family in our ward that was moving to Southern California and were leaving a house here that has 5 bedrooms. We knew they were undecided about renting or selling, but when Jeremy told them our predicament, they said "of course we will rent to you!" Halelujah! What a testimony builder that Heavenly Father, indeed, had not forgotten us! So we spent a good part of August getting moved and getting settled, for the 3rd summer in a row, but can't deny we are extremely blessed. Especially since we didn't have to move wards (we love the ward!), didn't have to change school districts (which we realized after we moved to CA is one of the best in the city), and Kaylee wouldn't have to change what High School she was already registered at. Tender mercies!
Next up....back to school!
